Melarase creams are formulated to improve pigmentation and discoloration using HQ and non-HQ skin lighteners. The mechanism of action is related to Melarase's ability to block tyrosinase enzyme that contributes to abnormal pigmentation and discoloration. When the melanocyte becomes hyperstimulated, the pigment deposits in the skin, causing characteristic pigmentation. Melasma, Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, skin discoloration, scar hyperpigmentation, sunspots, and dark skin can be lightened with Melarase creams. In our office, we recommend Plato's Scar Serum and Melarase PM for dark scars; Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads for skin discoloration and melasma; and Melarase AM alone for patients with hydroquinone allergies. We often use Melarase creams with retinoids like Replenish creams; or with Melapeels to more quickly address pigmentation.
