BBL in 3 days but worried about faja. Keep hearing about faja giving you a "chicken butt". Thoughts?

I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.
It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.

The compression garment varies with the plastic surgeon. 
I do not recommend a garment or faja that is extremely tight over the buttocks. I typically ask patients to use adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted and the areas of liposuction are less likely to get a fluid collection.   The garments typically do not cover the buttocks.  The key here is the size and the ability to tighten the garment, not the brand or make.  In my practice, the compression garments are provided as part of the BBL post op package.

Each doctor has their own protocol It is very important that you talk to him and follow his instructions.
I suggest my patients to use a full body compression garment, 24/7 for the first 3 months, and after that, for 12 hours a day for 3 more months, to get the best results.
It is important for the compression garment to be very tight, for it to help with the swelling, after surgery. I ask my patients to change to a smaller garment as soon as the first starts feeling loose.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

Hi and welcome to our forum!Different surgeons have different philosophies regarding the type of garment to wear after BBL. Some prefer evenly distributed compression, some expose the buttock cheeks, and some advocate no garment at all!In our practice, we recommend that a uniform buttock covering compression garment be worn during the first 4-6 weeks after BBL. It is utilized to prevent bleeding and to control swelling. It does not move the fat from its transplanted position.Best wishes...

Thanks for writing,We typically do not like tight garments, esp around the fat grafted buttocks. We use garment from Veronique that are designed for fat grafting. I find them to fit nicely, they don't overly compress the grafted buttocks and the material is soft and comfortable.Good luckStephen M. compression garments have no impact on the final outcomes from either liposuction or fat transfer procedures. In your case you have nothing to worry about because your doctor doesn't use one for the first week anyway.  If you're a good candidate and the procedure is done correctly the results will follow. The opposite are obviously also true.  Your results are determined when the procedure is stopped.  I suppose a patient could screw up fat transfer results by doing something silly like getting lymphatic massages of the butt but other than that the future results are predetermined at the end of the procedure.  It's pretty simple. Stop making this more complicated than it is. Pick the best doctor( easier said than done) and everything falls into place.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
