4 weeks post op and implants have not moved down at all. Is this normal? (photos)

I am 4 weeks post but have not seen improvement. The implants are still high and the breasts bottoms are empty. I read that it takes 3 to 6 months, but as I saw many reviews everywhere, there should have been some movement by 4 weeks. A few cases that I read when they did not move down by now or 6 weeks, patients eventually had revisions. I am worry that I might end up with that... Do you think they will migrate downward eventually? As usual, I greatly appreciate the expert's insights.

Generally, breast implants can take anywhere 3 to 12 months to drop completely. Some individuals may see results quicker than others. Four weeks is still early in the recovery period. At about 12 weeks there should be a noticeable difference in the positioning of the implant. If you are concerned you should consult your plastic surgeon.

Yes, at 4 weeks post-op, your implants still look high.  Everyone is different so your implants should continue to settle over the next few months which should fill out the bottom portion of your breasts and move your nipples to a more central location on your breast mound.  Go see your surgeon for an exam and perhaps ask about massaging and wearing a breast band 24/7 to help your implants drop.  Good luck! ac

You most likely have submuscular implants with a pre-existing breast sagging condition.  Now the implants are high and the breasts are sagging off of the implant.  To correct this condition you need to have the lower portion of the capsule excised and a breast lift.

Dear patient,it appears those implants are too big, in a too small submuscular pocket, and too high. and also you have a certain degree of breast ptosis which gives you 2 problems at the same time now.was the incision in your armpits ? that is a potential problem of this approach.you need to wait now a minimum of 6 months until all tissues are healed.do massages, wear a breast band, go to the gym and do upper body exercises ( fly etc.. ) to give it a chance, but I doubt the implants will settle down fully.my guess is you will need revision with bilateral capsulotomies to make the pocket larger and lower, with a form of breast lift ( crescent lift at minimum ) to raise your nipples and give you perky breasts.Good luck,F. In most cases, I would expect some improvement. Ask your surgeon about using a breast band or some downward movement exercises. If it does not improve after a few more months, a minor revision will help.

i believe you will need a breast lift in order to achieve a pleasant look of your breast .  Implants located under the muscle usually don't migrate enough to cause a natural look .Having a breast lift will give you great resultsbest wishes

Your breast implants should continue to drop for the next 8-12 weeks.Based on your photograph it appears that you may have needed a breast lift in addition to implants.Although your implants will most likely drop further, the nipple areola is quite low and may need elevation.

Since it is only 4 weeks post surgery there is still ample opportunity for the implants to fall into place. However, if I had to hazard a guess I would bet against this happening. You should discuss with your surgeon the benifit of certain massage techniques and the wearing of an elastic band to encourage the implants to settle.
