Combining Finasteride with Accutane? Hair Transplant

I am 27 year old healthy teetotaler male..In treatment for Male pattern baldness for past 8 months with Finastride 2.5 mg ( first 3 months and 1mg), My docotor prescribed Accutane 20mg(1st month), 10mg(next 3 months) then 5 mg(last 2months) for 6 months to my Mild Seborric dermatitis and face Acne. 1. Will accutane affect my hail loss treatment? 2. will it yield result on Acne and Dermatitis? 3. Do i have to stop Minoxidil , finastride and Accutane before hair transplantation?

You would certainly require more than 2000 grafts for a meaningful transplant. If you undergo 2000 grafts, you would set yourself up for having to commit to having more transplants to avoid looking odd as your hair loss progresses. It is best not to have a transplant at all in that scenario....

These hairs will sooner or later shed. They are never a problem for new hairs that start to grow. Usually, there is a lag time between the time the hairs shed (2-8 weeks) and the time the new hair grows (3-8 months). IF for any reason, there is an overlap between the two, pay no attention to it...

Thanks for your question. We advise our patients to apply Minoxidil 20 days after the hair transplantation surgery. After starting you should go on for 1 year. This is very important.

I don't like the idea of anyone removing grafts that have scabs on them because we have published a paper in a formal medical journal, that when a person pulls off a scab (crust) from a recipient area in less than 12 days, the risk of losing the graft is very high.
