4 months post hair transplant - growth slightly uneven, is this normal?

It is normal for the initial growth to appear patchy. This is because each follicle cycles at a different pace. You should start seeing some degree of uniformity at about the 6-7 month.

While it is possible that grafts in one area may not be as successful as those in another area, the most common reason for uneven growth in the first 6-9 months after hair transplant is that not enough time has passed. As the hairs mature over the first 12 months, the final result will become visible. At 4 months, much of the hair growth is not even visible yet, and can only begin to be assessed during the 6-9 month time frame. Patience with hair transplant is key. It can take 6 to 12 months after surgery to see results.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor

Yes, it's very common for the hair to grow at different rates after the procedure.  It may take up to 18 months for the hair to be fully grown and then you can determine if you need more grafts to fill in areas that didn't take.

At this point it is difficult to comment on the final result.It is not unusual to have early uneven growth-full results will be evident at one year.

It is common to have an uneven growth 4 months following the surgery as the hair must have just started coming out. It is too early to comment anything about the final outcome. So, it will be better to wait till 9-12 months when you will see the proper results of the surgery.

It is quite common at 4 months to have an uneven hair growth after Hair Transplant. As the time progresses you should see more and more hairs coming into growing phase and thickening, thus giving a better "filled in" appearance.

At four months it is too early to tell how your final results will be.  You need to wait another 4-8 months to se how things will settle out. 

It is much too early to judge your result. Early growth has just started at the 3 month mark. At 6 months you will be at only about 50% growth, at 12 months you will be at roughly 90% growth. Remain patient and continue to follow your doctors post op care instructions.

Without pictures it is hard to say. A little patchiness/uneven growth is normal for the first few months, but if there are already significant differences that may be cause for concern. Talk to your doctor about it (and show them the unevenness) to see if they think it is a problem. In general though for mild differences you should wait until months 8-10 to start worrying. Usually before then the hair will even out on its own.
