Answer: 22 with hair loss Based on your age and photo I would not recommend a hair transplant at this time. The best way to judge if there is truly recession is to take photos of the area using the same angle and compare every 3-6 months. You can also consider adjuncts to prevent further loss and maintain what you have. These include Finasteride ,Minoxidil ,Low Level Laser Light and/or PRP(Platelet Rich Plasma). I would recommend having an evaluation by a Dermatologist or experienced Hair Restoration surgeon to determine the appropriate treatment plan.

Answer: Early hair loss options The timing of transplant is crucial especially when the goal is restoration of a hairline. Transplant involves the transfer of androgen insensitive follicular units from areas of abundance to areas of deficit. This is best undertaken when a patient has reached a stable hair pattern. Establishing a new permanent front via grafting before reaching a loss plateau will commit an individual to repeat grafting in order to fill in as loss continues behind the grafted front. A stable pattern is best estimated by evaluating male relatives (parents, grandparents, siblings). The typical candidate is in his 50's and has reached a plateau. However, the young man in his early 20's whose pattern mirrors the stable pattern of his father, 30 years his senior, is a reasonable candidate as well. With regards to your specific question, there are a number of other options available at your age other than transplant including medical therapy (Minoxidil and Finasteride) as well as PRP. As always, discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon with experience in hair restoration (ABPS).

Answer: Hairline is receding Receding hairline is not a hair loss because of ongoing process of androgenetic alopecia but a simple juvenile type maturing of frontal hair line. That is seen almost every young boys almost between 16-21 that have a very rounded hairline without recession in the corners. Recession in the corners is a sign of mature pattern male frontal hair line.

Answer: PRP Treatment I believe for your receding hair line you would be a good candidate for PRP injections. A series of 3-6 treatments spaced out every 4-6 weeks apart would give you good results. It is best to start sooner to increase the current hair you have and stimulate hair growth in the areas that are thinning.
