But it has worsened my hair loss. I've been suffering from pattern baldness for about 2 years. My physician prescribed Finasteride and Minoxidil for baldness.last year i used it for 3 months and the results were encouraging. But Now I've used the medicine for a month but it has weakened my hair and worsened the hair loss.please tell what should I do. Thanks.
Answer: You need to continue with finasteride daily to treat DHT, but effects of minoxidil can wane, so there are other treatments Thank you for your question. You’re 21-years-old and describe you’ve been suffering pattern baldness for the past 2 years. You state that your physician prescribed finasteride and Minoxidil for the last year, and you used it for 3 months and the results were encouraging. You’ve used the medicine for one month and you feel that the medicine has weakened your hair. I would say as a specialist who has been treating hair loss for many years through transplantation and as creator of TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration using stem cell based technology for hair loss, there are some questions raised when I reviewed your history. Is it fair to assume that you stopped using the drug after 3 months although it was working? This is implied by you stating that you used it for a month more recently. As someone who is 21 who’s losing hair since the age of 19, in my practice I would define you based on our experience as highly DHT-sensitive. In situations like yours, it is recommended that you be on finasteride, and be on it regularly. It is not likely that finasteride or minoxidil made your hair worse. It is more likely that your hair loss genetically is very aggressive, and that your hair loss is still continuing to progress. I recommend you discuss with your doctor the option of taking finasteride and minoxidiI. My observations have been that finasteride can help with some hair regrowth. However, when we use our treatment TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration, we see much significant improvement on patients who have been on finasteride for many years, so after treatment, their hair has significant benefit. I recommend you watch the video that I’ve linked in this answer so you can get some additional information and learn more about the options you have that include continuing on finasteride and minoxidil, and regenerative medicine technology for hair treatment. Thank you for your question.

Answer: 21 and losing hair If I read your question correctly, you used finasteride and minoxidil for three months but then stopped, and when you resumed you noticed more hair loss after a month? Both medications work best when taken regularly without stopping and starting. It is not uncommon to have some shedding early on when using minoxidil; this is temporary and expected, and when the hair grows back it is thicker. I would suggest you continue minoxidil twice daily and finasteride. Also consider seeing a local hair restoration expert to discuss other options such as laser therapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). I would not suggest a transplant at your age; you need time for your pattern to settle out first.

Answer: 20 year old Your biggest enemy is the progressive thinning leading to a balding pattern that may not evident at this point in time. The degree of hair loss that you are experiencing would suggest that you should see a doctor who most likely will get Bulk Measurements of your hair to determine the degree of the thinning that you may be presently having. If the diagnosis is early genetic hair loss (the most common cause of hair loss in young men and you are following your families balding problem), then the best treatment would be the drug finasteride which is highly effective in men of your age and may not only stop the hair loss but possibly reverse it. If you are developing a more advanced balding pattern the best test to get is the HAIRCHECK instrument test (for bulk measurements) and this will show, over a one-year time frame, how effective the treatment will be or if you are not on drugs, using this instrument to tell you if you have ANY hair loss at all. Once you know this information, then you and your doctor need to develop a MASTER PLAN which will define what you need
