Chemical peels treatment. What are the side effects if I stop using them?

Generally depending upon the type of peel you are receiving (superficial vs medium/deep) it is beneficial to continue to receive "light peels."  If your lesion recurs you could restart your peels.  If the area keeps returning it might be beneficial to get a superficial biopsy to get a diagnosis.  If you are young, the ongoing peels can keep your skin quality optimal and smooth.

Thank you for your question. I would recommend following your doctors suggestion on treatment duration. The worst thing that could happen if you discontinued treatments is the itchy dry spot could come back. There are a lot of beneficial qualities to chemical peels such as skin condition correction, anti aging and pigmentation correction so continuing the treatments will be beneficial to you regardless of your spot being corrected.
