6 months post rhinoplasty - is this my end result? (photos)

Question

Im 6 months post rhinoplasty of having a bump removed and tip worked on. But as a result I’ve lost definition in my nose from between my eyebrows to the tip of my nose & on each side of my nose it feels bigger than before. I stay in touch with my doctor but im afraid he’s not listening to my concerns. Am i normally healing does the tip get better & nose altogether or am I pretty much at my end result ? It takes an average of 12 months for result of rhinoplasty to mature and present itself in final form; you are just haft way! Gentle massage of the areas of concern (discuss how and where with your surgeon) would help to remodel underlying scars and swelling. Patience. Good ;luck.

Thank you for your question. It can take even up to 18 months after surgery for all swelling/edema to resolve. It's difficult to speculate on your exact case with only these 2 photos but chances are your doctor wants to help so I would continue to follow-up with him/her. I wish you all the best.

Healing after rhinoplasty: it can take 12 to 18 months to see the final result of the rhinoplasty, particularly the tip. If one has particularly thick skin it can take even longer.

Hi and welcome to our forum!
The procedure of rhinoplasty involves separation of the nasal cartilages from overlying and underlying tissues as it is trimmed and reshaped. The nasal bones are fractured and mobilized. The tissue trauma resulting from this "insult" is significant, resulting in swelling (which may be asymmetric) and firmness which may persist for a year or longer. This phenomenon will gradually subside. The nasal tip is notorious for taking the longest time to heal. Some surgeons advocate the use of nasal tapes to control the swelling in the early postoperative period.
I recommend continued follow-up with your surgeon as you are a long way from being healed.
