I am a 47 year old female with fair skin. I stay out of the sun and have a great home daily skincare routine. I noticed the skin on my neck was mildly saggy so chose the Infini RF treatment to firm it up a bit. I did one treatment .The doctor gave me 2 IPL treatments which helped with the redness and I’ve been using a 2% hydroquinone serum which is improving the hyperpigmentation but the vertical striated marks/scars remain. Help! I can’t wear turtlenecks forever!!!

Please do not be concerned. Most prolonged redness and hyper pigmentation can be treated with creams or lasers. Unfortunately, the healing period is slow and it takes several months for these issues to be resolved. Every doctor has their own regimen for these problems. Please consult with your doctor  and they will help you get thru this process.

This can be improved with lasers like clear + brilliant or Fraxel along with pulsed dye laser or V Beam and microneedling/prp. I find that growth factors and silicone based scar gels help this as well along with enzematic cleansers. I usually treat prolonged redness with the Excel V laser. Make sure you are on Retinol and hydroquinone as well as a good growth factor product such as Lifeline. The technique and settings are key to having a quick recovery with great outcomes with Infini. If not progressing as you would like, consider another opinion. Also consider a Fraxel Dual resurfacing when healing has completed.

Yes, they should settle in time. Track marks can be idiosyncratic (no cause) or user error- namely pulse delivered when needle is vv superficial. They normally settle in time. CS ointments can help. If they are still present at 4-6 months I use either C and B or 1927 gentle low joule Fraxel. Your specialist will have their own preferred method for the treatment of grinding.
