Is it safe to have Bellafill done by an experienced RN injector during a training session? A cannula will be used.

Hi! You're in good hands as long as the person who is doing the injecting is being actively supervised by a skilled trainer.  Bellafill is a semi-permeant dermal filler (in which the microspheres can last up to five years) so you want to ensure proper placement.  That being said if the RN injecting the bellafill has experience with other dermal fillers, you're in great hands! 

I use cannula for all my cosmetic injections with Bellafill. I feel this is the safest way to inject all fillers, particularly Bellafill which has no dissolver. The experience of the injector is the most important part of a safe injection. When I'm using Bellafill for acne scarring, I will mostly use a needle if I'm injecting in the dermis. Bellafill is the most studied filler on the market and it's long-term rates of "AE" adverse events with over 685,000 syringes is 0.12%. It is as safe or safer than any other filler. We have been designated as one of 15 Regional Training Centers in the US.

I prefer to do the injections myself, especially since the results are long lasting.  However, if a nurse is well trained and has a lot of experience, there shouldn't be any safety concerns.
