You didn't mention what condition the PicoSure treatment was used for, but in general, once your skin is completely healed (looks and feels back to normal) after the PicoSure procedure, there should be no problem with using the Fraxel laser.
Some of my patients have developed results in improvement of their acne scars more quickly by alternating Fraxel Dual/Restore and PicoSure Focus lasers every two weeks. I am also studying the effects of performing both on the same day but am not recommending this globally to my patients, and certainly not to you anyone who hasn't seen me in person for an examination and consultation. The information provided in Dr. Shelton'sanswer is for educational purposes only and is not intendedto constitute medical advice. Hi rca123, I would need more information to fully respond to your question. What condition are you treating? What body area? Which Fraxel? What is the timeline in between treatments? In general, I recommend about 2 weeks in between procedures. You want to ensure the treated area has fully healed before doing another treatment. I hope this helps. Dr. Tremaine
Thanks for posting your question. You can certainly have a Fraxel laser done after the pciosure. You could in fact have them done on the same day if you wanted to do so. There are different types of Fraxel lasers (a Repair is more aggressive) and some are not suitable for all skin tones. Be well, Dr. M
I frequently combine Picosure FOCUS with Fraxel, INFINI, CORE CO2 and other treatments. Picosure is intraepidermal, and Fraxel can be ablative or non ablative. In some cases combination treatments work best. My fav combination is Picosure with Fraxel or CO2 low density fractional. All the best, Dr Davin LimLaser Dermatologist BRISBANE.
It doesn't matter what order it is done. Both methods will be equally effective to help recovery and results. What is important is that the Prp be at least 2.5x platelet concentration.
Fraxel will not affect your hair growth in any way. Good luck with your hair removal and your acne scar treatment.
Thanks for your question, DixieJune. Yes, typically Fraxel DUAL requires several passes across the skin to achieve optimal results. However, it really depends on your individual needs as well as the device settings your practitioner chose. Unfortunately, without the complete details of your...
A Fraxel Dual treatment simply means the provider is using two separate lasers - a 1927 wavelength (also known as Thulium) and a 1550 wavelength (know as a Restore). In the case of a "Restore" the physician is only using the 1550 laser. They do different things, with the 1927 doing more for sun...
Fraxel is not appropriate for tan skin. The laser will perceive it as pigment and you can get burned. Always consult a board certified dermatologist for Fraxel and lasers. Best, Dr. Green
Fraxel lasers and chemical peels can cause unwanted discloration and pigmentation if not performed conservatively. After melasma laser or chemical peels; the following protocol is advised: Elevase Moisture Booster: Twice daily application of Elevase Moisture Booster to help hydrate chapped, ...
