Will low-dose aspirin treatment prevent PRP for hair loss from working?

Question

I'm on low dose aspirin b/c I have a stent. Can PRP treatment for hair loss still be effective? From what I've read (but I'm no scientist!) you would have to stay off aspirin for 10 -14 days to allow the platelets to regenerate, but I doubt my cardiologist would be happy about that. I don't want to go through the discomfort and expense of the PRP treatment if the aspirin will prevent the desired outcome! (Aspirin is the only platelet-inhibitor I take.)

If you're on a baby dose of aspirin, it's definitely important to check with your physician before undergoing PRP treatment. That said, there are other regenerative options worth considering. In my opinion, alternatives like exosomes, Pure PDGF+, polynucleotides (salmon DNA), and connective tissue allografts (stem cells) may offer benefits without the same concerns related to platelet function. Each of these therapies has unique regenerative properties, so discussing them with both your physician and an experienced provider can help determine the best option for you.

I think that the reason you are placed on aspirin therapy is more important than hair loss. However, you could consider laser therapy which is safe to use on patients currently taking aspirin and in my experience helps to slow down hair loss in a higher percentage of patients than PRP.

aspirin will not affect PRP, but adding acell makes prp work way better. I suggest you start that plus restorsea spray, viviscal, and topical growth factors anteagemd ampules (see link).

I suggest a formal consultation as there are a combination of treatments that can be done to improve har loss.  Oral finesteride has very little to no side effects in the majority of people; PRP/platelet-rich plasma + stem cells like A Cell help regrow hair and slow down the thinning process; rogaine and restorsea spray should be used daily; oral viviscal helps keep nutrients high in the follices as well.  Transplantation is a last resort but works early in the aging process as well.  A formal consultation and combination treatment is needed.  Best, Dr. Emer.
