I've heard about the benefits of PRP and derma rolling for hair loss, planning to get it done but not at the same time, with 15 days difference between both treatment

Answer: I am not sure that dermal rolling will add anything but it should not be detrimental either Since i inject the PRP into the scalp using a small 30 gauge needle, there is really nothing that can be done to remove it. This is why I think it is perfectly fine to exercise immediately afterwards (i did this after each of my 4 sessions), as well as wash your hair etc. I do not believe that there is much research validation dermal rolling for hair growth with PRP. Since the hair root is under the skin, i am not sure that doing PRP to the scalp surface will do much. It is possible that it could increase blood flow to not only the skin (which i believe it does, as well as increase collagen and elastic fibers to the skin), but also to the subcutaneous skin. if this occurred it could be a beneficial addition, to the PRP. Certainly, doing dermal rolling 15 days after PRP, will not adversely affect the hair growth or the PRP session. david berman md
