Is 48 hrs an absolute period for everyone prior to surgery?

Typically I drink approximately 16oz of Moscato per night. I also drink several 16oz bottles of water per day. No soda, no milk but 2 cups of coffee also. I have had several prior cosmetic procedures without abiding by the 48 hr. rule and have never had a problem during or after any procedure. I do not allow myself to get dehydrated. I exercise every other day and eat 3 x a day non-fatty, non-dairy foods. I do not drink the day or night before any procedures- approximately 36 hrs. Just luck?
