My 38A breasts are the same size after surgery. What kind of procedure would make them bigger? (Photo)

Success is defined by your satisfaction with the procedure.  Of course by definition your breasts must be larger since you have implants.   They may not be large enough to make you happy though.  375 cc is a modest implant and perhaps you had something bigger in mind.  You need to try sizers on to have a good idea of what you would consider a success.  The only way to get your breasts larger is to have larger implants put in.  Not even sure what the plastic surgeon means by expansion.  $8575 is expensive for a breast augmentation.  You should talk to the plastic surgeon who did the procedure about switching your implants out for larger ones.  They should be willing to do this for less than if you had another surgeon perform the revision. 

375cc implants should have made some difference. I would suggest you ask your operating surgeon to put your before/after pics side by side so you can better see the difference. If you still want to go bigger, I would suggest waiting a good 6 months to a year before proceeding with larger implants. This will give your breast tissue enough time to have stretched some more so your breast pocket can accommodate a larger implant. Good luck!

Appears as we have a communication issue to volume.. Best to "try" to have face to face with your chosen surgeon to arrange a revision surgery. There will be fees incurred though... 

Without seeing preop photos to compare to I can not say, but I find it doubtful that you would be the same size after surgery.  Going bigger in the future may be an option.

Without before and after photos it is hard to comment  on your observation.  I do find it almost inconceivable that a woman starting out as a A cup has not had and increase in breast size with a 375 cc implant. Larger implants would be needed to give you larger breasts. Two months is way early to properly plan a second procedure.  I would recommend holding off until 6 months after surgery.  All the best.

If you want to be bigger, than bigger implants will do that, but I would recommend you wait a minimum of 3-4 months to allow for stretching to get your final result. Compare photos from pre-op to 3 months post-op, and you will see a difference.

Hi and thanks for your question. Breast sizing is not very straight forward.  One problem is that there really isn't a standard for bra sizes. I have patients who wear a B in one brand, and a C in the other. I also find that there is tremendous variation in what patients consider to be a C or D cup breast. On any given day in our office we will see two patients who say that they are both wearing a D cup bra, but one patients breast are almost twice the size of the other. Some of those patients barely fill out the cup, others fill it well, and others fill it but have a lot of breast tissue spilling out of the bra. So with bra size it depends, in part, in how you choose to wear a bra. 375cc implants are one of the more common sizes that I use. Most patients tell us that this usually results in changing their breast size by 1-2 cups. But again it depends on how a patient likes to fit into a bra. As a result of your surgery your breast are, by definition, larger. You just aren't seeing the cup size change you expected. My suggestion is to focus on the look of the breasts rather than the cup size. If you like the way they look then don't change a thing. If, however, you feel they are too small when you look in the mirror or try on different clothes, then you can certainly change the implants. I like patients to wait 6 months. If you are going to change to larger implants you need to give the tissue time to stretch out. Changing out the implants is an easier surgery with less discomfort and less downtime. Good luck.Dr J

Since you didn't provide pre op pictures, there is no way of helping you see if there was a change.  375 cc gel implant had to bring you at least one cup up … maybe you were not a full A to start .Your Ps is right about tissue expansion. Very small breast ( Hypoplastic ) may require more than one procedure to reach the size desired by the patient. I recommend you wait one year minimum , before you go bigger , that way you can probably double your actual size and be happier with the results .you can also get less expensive surgery outside of the USA. Best wishes 

Having the placement of 375 cc implants has to make you larger than you were pre-op. I think you just wish you had a larger result. I usually do not recommend a return to surgery for a larger implant till a minimum of 6 months have passed. This allows the skin and muscle to stretch and settle. It is safer to wait. Also, one must understand that at the first go around you have a limited capacity as to what size implant your breast can accept. With time your capacity is larger with the new implants. To place larger implants is a realtively simple procedure that can be done under local with IV sedation. When this is done with our patients it is performed at a reduced cost compared to the initial surgery fee. I would give it time and discuss these options with your surgeon.
