I would not recommend skipping trays, but I have had patients change their trays 1 day early in order to save time and it has worked pretty well. I would recommend that you talk to your dentist about your options. AcceleDent is an option, but costs about $1,200 to $1,500 depending on the region of the country you live in. The last thing you want to do is try to speed up your care and end up delaying it with months more of refinement trays. So, call your dentist and ask him if you can skip one day on your next 14 aligners in order to allow you to finish early.Good luck with everything and follow me if you have any more questions. Take care.
The trays have been perfectly optimized to move teeth as quickly and as predictably as possible. If you push too hard on the teeth, then bone around the teeth will react in a way that actually RESISTS the tooth movement. When you skip trays, you are pushing too hard on the teeth and as a result you will slow your progress. If you are only 2 weeks behind schedule and you are worried about a big event or a wedding, then do not worry about it. Your teeth will be 99% in correct position 2 weeks prior to completion of your treatment.
There is an amazing new system called Acceledent that can cut time in aligners by half. It is a little horseshoe shaped wafer that you bite into 20 minutes a day. I have patients using it with a great deal of success .
Officially, Trays are supposed to be 14 days. However there are a couple of means to cut this down to 7 days per set. There is a micro bone perforation system that has just come out that claims by using it you can cut the time down to 7 days. Use of low level laser therapy can help as well. Also, some people have done 10 days and not told docs and it has worked out OK. I am not giving any recommendations - just information of what is out there
Hello there,I would be helpful to see some photos of the "crooked" lateral incisor, so I could predict your probable outcome better, but I'll tell you that refinements generally work pretty well. I would say that refinements may be necessary 5-10% of the time, but depends on the specific...
Hello there! If your tooth doesn't fit aligner properly then the movement intended for that particular tooth is not occurring. Poor fitting aligners can be caused by noncompliance of the patient or inaccurate impressions during initial stages of invisalign procedure. It could also be a...
Hi there,To answer your question, of course you can get contouring and bonding with a permanent retainer, as long as the permanent retainer is not obstructing the exact area that you want contoured or bonded. I can tell you that I have provided contouring and bonding on several patients...
