Just finished Invisalign Express treatment and am not satisfied. Will I need to begin a whole new treatment? (photo)

In looking at your photos, it appears that braces would likely be the best option for you.  It's unfortunate that the Invisalign Express did not complete the job, but because I didn't see your before, it's hard to say whether you benefited from the Express or not.  I would imagine that the clear aligners improved your smile, but obviously not to your liking.  I would suggest talking to your dentist about your options.Sarah Thompson, DMD     O'Fallon, IL

I guide my patients away from Invisalign Express whenever possible for this very reason.  It's cheap when it works, but when it doesn't, the patient has to start over; so there goes the savings. I have called Align (the Invisalign corporation) and spoken with a representative who did offer to extend coverage after an Express treatment; however, there are no guarantees that they would do it routinely. To answer your question, have your dentist call Align and ask if anything can be done.  Also ask the dentist why he provided retainers that fit improperly.

From the photos, I would opine that you would be a better candidate for conventional braces.  Invisalign is limited in what it can do.  Conventional braces are far superior in obtaining the exact results we want.  I would switch to conventional braces in your case and do not allow any more proximal reduction.  You need arch expansion
