Hi there,To answer your question, of course you can get contouring and bonding with a permanent retainer, as long as the permanent retainer is not obstructing the exact area that you want contoured or bonded. I can tell you that I have provided contouring and bonding on several patients that have had permanent retainers placed by me. I typically go out of my way to place the permanent retainer in a way that does not hinder my patients cosmetically or functionally in their ability to speak or eat.
