The sign that your implant is leaking is that here is a loss of volume. This is not subtle. After two days, the implant would be flat.
It is unlikely that your implant is leaking because saline implants will tend to completely deflate. Silicone implants (at least modern ones) when ruptured will not leak any fluid. It is possible that you have a fluid collection known as a seroma which is something that should be examined sooner rather than later. In either case, the only way to find out what is actually going on is to have a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can examine you and order any tests that might be necessary. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. I'm exactly sure what sensation you are describing. If you have saline implants then it would completely deflate if the implant was ruptured. If you have silicone implants then an MRI of the chest would be required to determine if the implant is ruptured or not. I would suggest meeting with your surgeon to find out their opinion after meeting with you in person. You trusted their expertise to perform the surgery for you, you should meet with them if you are concerned about a leak.If you would like more information regarding breast augmentation, you can download a free copy of my breast augmentation planner at ABetterBreast.com.Good luck.
I'm really not sure what you're describing. If you have a saline implant in his leaking the fluid will not be felt on the side of the breast. This saline is not harmful and in short order the breast will flatten making the diagnosis obvious even to you.
If your saline implant is leaking, your breast will become smaller. The new gel implants are not liquid, so cannot leak. Some may form a collection of tissue fluid, a seroma, around the implants in the early stages of healing. Occasionally, this seroma will not dissolve. I would suggest meeting with your surgeon and being checked.
It will settle with highest chances for a smooth contour within few months, this is a quite normal effect at the early days.
Thank you for your question. Drop and fluff refers to post-operative period in which the breasts begin to descend and fills out the lower half of the breast. It may take several months for this to happen and can be encouraged with breast massage and compression. It may appear that the breast...
The manufacture does cover the implants themselves for as long as they are in you, so if one or both have ruptured they should cover the cost of the implant(s), however they do not cover any surgical fees after 10 years. I would contact Allergan regarding your specific implants, you will...
Great question. If the implant is appropriately sized (not excessively large), most patients report that they feel very natural, indistinguishable from their own breasts. With time, they may become hard and unnatural if excessive scar tissue develops around the implants (capsular...
Thank for your inquiry. The body creates a lining called a capsule which will surround the implant. Hope that helps. Good Luck.
The short answer to your question is "yes".Implants which fall into the armpit are displaced laterally within the breast implant pocket. The pocket can be closed laterally using several techniques, and then opened more medially to give some degree of improved cleavage. If your...
