Can butt implants be done while the patient is awake with an epidural?

I recently had a baby, and My 1st Epidural.. I am absolutely sure that I was numb from the waist dwn... so why arent butt implants done this way? Wouldn't the instance of problems occuring with anesthesia eliminated this way?

The difference is, you delivered your baby while face up, whereas buttock implants are placed with you face down.  Controlling your airway (i.e. maintaining safe breathing and respiration) is actually safer under general anesthesia in the face down position. Also after having done over 1000 buttock implants, I have not had a single serious anesthesia complication. In fact, driving an automobile is much more dangerous than general anesthesia. The most important thing is that you choose the right surgeon who knows this procedure and has performed it many times before with great success. The right surgeon will listen to your concerns and go over your options.  Be sure to choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in this procedure and is well known in the community for it.
