Question

Im getting a bbl with breast lift with implants in november. I'm currently a saggy 34 n/c (after 90+ lb natural weight loss).. How many ccs equal a DD cup? I would like to be a 32/34 DD. how can u tell me bra size of my wish pic?

Determining cup size with implants is a very tricky thing to do. It is also inaccurate and can cause problems. This is because of the following reasons:1. Bra cup sizes are not standardized. A 36 C-cup produced by one manufacturer could be a 32 D-cup produced by another manufacturer, or even more different. There is no standardization.2. Measurements of a patient's pre-surgery body are necessary to determine what implant size would achieve the desired result. 300cc's in one patient may increase their bust size by 1 cup, while in another patient it may increase their bust size more.You should be selecting implant size based on the look that you'd like to achieve, rather than cup size alone. Bring some bras in the range of sizes you'd like to be during your consultation. You can then try on sizers that can give you an idea of what size would be most suitable.Please see an experienced board certified plastic surgeon to help you determine what implants would be best for your body. Judging from your photo, the lift and augmentation can be performed at the same time or one after the other, with a few months of recovery time between.

I would try sizers on in the office, and then you can determine the volume you would like. I would not focus on cup size as cup sizes vary incredibly by manufacturer. Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of breast augmentations, breast lifts, and Brazilian buttlifts each year. 	Staight answer....not sure.  You will need a consulation to get sized.  What I can say is that you will most likely need a lift along with the implants.  Breast implants along will not lift your breasts up.

	To be sure, see two or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a full and complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery.

Thank you for your question. However, because there is no consitency from bra manufacturer to manufacturer, there is no one set volume for a DD cup. The best advice is to have an in person consultation with a PS and bring pictures of your goal and they can make a recommendation after examining you.

In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements and characteristics.  Unfortunately, there is not a general rule of thumb or objective criteria to implant selection.
	Your plastic surgeon will perform several measurements of your chest wall and breast anatomy and determine a range of implants that both fit your chest wall and reach your desired goals.
	The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor.   The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant.   It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you.

Although potentially useful to some degree, online “consultations” cannot be as precise as necessary. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals, careful measurements (dimensional planning),  careful selection of appropriate breast implants and skillful execution of the procedure will be important steps in achieving your goals.
	 

	Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery is:    

	1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully.  Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.     
	2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals  with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining  breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals.  In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural”  or “C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful.  Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup  size may also be inaccurate.      
	3.  Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly,  allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals.  Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery.

Dear bklynbeauty, unfortunately, without examining you, it would be impossible to assess your bra size. Furthermore, despite estimations, there is no set volume given for each cup size as bra manufacturers vary in their determination of cup sizes. An estimation that I use in my practice is that for every cup size increase, an additional 150 cc is needed. Looking at your photos, you are correct, it appears that you need a combination of a breast lift and an implant to achieve what you desire. I recommend seeking a formal consultation with an ASAPS (American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and desires to determine the correct implants and surgery you will need.

Hello there. There are several variables in determining implant size. When recommending implant size for my patients, I consider the followings: 1) patients' anatomy (height, weight, chest width, chest height, amount of breast tissue) and 2) patients' desired look/goal. Without knowing your chest measurement and breast tissue amount, I cannot give you any recommendation. You should visit with board-certified plastic surgeon who will examine you. Try implant sizers to get a rough estimate of the size you may want. As you know, bra/cup size will vary depending on the brand. Good luck with you.
