Thank you for your question. Usually the breast augmentation causes the nipples to project out rather than invert. Have an examination with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and evaluate your options for the nipple irregularity. I hope this helps.
The reason for this is that the breast tissue beneath the nipple and areola is shaped like a pyramid or cone. Once removed, the cone flattens. Also, assuming implants are under the muscle, the muscle gives a flattening of your shape. If your surgery was very recent, there may still be some improvement. If the shape continues, fat injections (one or more sessions) can be a big help. Best of luck.
With your surgery all the breast tissue was removed so the nipple areola complex is only skin thick. This can be elevated with fat or tissue. Talk to your PS.
Your nipples may 'sink' because there is inadequate tissue beneath it or if your nipple was used for the mastectomy, you could have scarring pulling the nipple down.
