My columella retracted causing an upper lip protrusion. How can this fixed? (photos)

Thank you for your question. You do have some columellar retraction affecting the visual relationship with the lip.  It does not appear that the lip is affected. Revisionary surgery to lower the columella would help this problem. Cartilage grafting would likely be needed to stabilize the result.  Best wishes.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience.  The first thing would be to go back to your surgeon and explain what you are unhappy about to see if he/she would be able to fix it.  If not, the columella can be addressed to give you a rounder, fuller appearance.  Please consult with a board certified specialist who can assist you with achieving the results you seek.  3-dimensional computer imaging can help you visualize what you may look like afterwards and serve as an important communication tool with your surgeon.

Revision rhinoplasty can be entertained to give more columellar show. This would involve adding a cartilage graft to the columella, provided there is enough cartilage left on the inside of your septum. In cartilage depleted noses, an ear cartilage graft may be required. It is doubtful this will affect your upper lip
