Fat transfer to back of head? (Photo)

Question

Dear all, I posted a similar question many months ago and saw others asking for fat transfer to the head aswell. I would like to get a professional opinion on what can be expected from adding volume to the scalp using fat reagrding permanent/longterm results? Since it depends on each individual case and the amount of fat, I attached a picture for better understanding of my case. Would it be possible with one or two fat grafting sessions so achieve the shown result permanently? Many thanks!

Successful fat, grafting requires there to be a significant host issue to support the grafted fat. The scalp has five soft tissue layers. These are the skin, connective tissue layer, galea aponeurotica, loose areolar connective tissue, and the pericranium.
None of these layers are ideal as post tissue for fat grafting. I’m sure it’s possible to get some fat to survive. Traditionally, reshaping the score could be done with methods that directly in the skull at self says that’s where the underlying problem is. Molded methylmethacrylate is one such option.
I suppose you can try fat grafting and you’ll find out firsthand how effective in the treatment is. Understanding what does procedure can and cannot accomplish is a bit tricky. This is the part due to the fact that early results can look very impressive but did not represent final results.
When reviewing before, and after pictures, always confirm the exact timeframe of when after pictures were taken. Do not trust pictures. Do not trust results you see a line to be truly representative of final long-term results.
I suggest having multiple in person consultations at which time you should ask providers to show overall skill and confidence by showing as many before, and after pictures as possible of unusual areas of fat grafting. Especially areas that are somewhat lacking in host tissue. When reviewing before, and after pictures, ask specifically what the timeframe of when after pictures were taken.
You may also want to consider more traditional ways of reshaping the skull.
