9 days post-op breast augmentation and my face has been a little numb; is this normal?

Thanks for the question.Its early to talk about results.In my practice, after performing a BA I recommend to my patients to limit the movement of the arms for two weeks. After that, you can move your arms taking care and always with common sense. In this regard, it's not advisable to carry heavy weights to prevent the implant out of position, and allow the formation of the physiological capsule around the implant, also to avoid pain and breast swelling.Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol.-

I do not agree with a previous expert poster , positioning in an augmentation could caused facial numbness! I think you are having a reaction to anesthesia or a medication. Call your surgeon ASAP! 

Facial numbness after a breast augmentation is not common and I would mention this to your surgeon at your follow up appointment.  It may be the result of some facial swelling and as long as you are not having any significant deficits in moving the muscles of your face will likely resolve spontaneously with time.  Hope this helps.
