Sorry that this question is falling under the category of "double eyelid surgery". Its the closest category to the question I am asking. I was curious if there was a type of surgery that could change the eyes like in the pictures I attached to this question. I have abnormally wideset eyes, and having the lacrimal caruncle extended like this imo would look much better. Would a procedure like this be possible, or would it be deemed to dangerous? Are there other options for wideset eyes?
Answer: Medial epicanthoplasty Yes, the concern you have about wide-set eyes can be addressed surgically. The procedure you're referring to is known as medial epicanthoplasty. This surgery is often performed alongside Asian double eyelid surgery but can also be done independently. Medial epicanthoplasty involves the modification of the medial canthal area to elongate the appearance of the eyes. By doing so, it effectively reduces the intercanthal distance, making the eyes appear closer together. This procedure can be a suitable option for individuals looking to make their epicanthal folds appear less pronounced, or to alter the spacing of their eyes, making it a potentially viable solution for your concerns about wide-set eyes. However, as with any surgical procedure, it's crucial to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in such procedures to discuss the risks, benefits, and feasibility in your specific case.

Answer: Surgery for the wide set eyes In order to answer your question better, an actual photo of your eyes would be very helpful. Telecanthus is a medical term meaning increased distance between the eyes (or medial canthi). Although traumatic injuries like NOE facial fracture can cause this, I would assume from your question that this is something you've always had. If you have epicanthal folds that cover the medial canthal angle and lacrimal caruncle area, medial epicanthoplasty could fix that problem. But, if you would like to go a step further and desire to pull the corners more medially to decrease the intercanthal distance, you would need medial canthoplasty in which the medial canthal tendons are suture anchored to the periosteum of the bone more medial. I perform a large volume of asian blepharoplasty procedures including double eyelid, medial and lateral canthoplasty, etc., and I have my own way of performing this procedure. You might be able to search one in your area. If not, I would be happy to help.
