It has been 2 days since sclerotherapy treatment for superficial spider veins. I trusted the doctor, a surgeon for varicose veins. A horrible experience, abrupt, never cleaned my legs with alcohol, nurse didn't know how to apply tapes after injections and the treatment was painful. I couldn't sleep due to swelling and pain in the feet. I Asked to see the doctor but could only talk to the nurse. She said everything was normal. I have extreme bruising , hard bumps and a big lump under the skin.

Some minor swelling over the treated veins is normal post sclerotherapy but if you have significant swelling in the ankles, please see your physician as this may indicate an excessive reaction or underlining blood clot. Properly measured graduated compression stockings should help.
