Is swelling normal post sclerotherapy?

Some minor swelling over the treated veins is normal post sclerotherapy but if you have significant swelling in the ankles, please see your physician as this may indicate an excessive reaction or underlining blood clot. Properly measured graduated compression stockings should help.

The symptoms that you describe are normal post sclerotherapy and swelling is also common.  This is usually due to irritation from the injected solution.  Continued compression should help.  If no improvement by one week then follow up with your treating physician.
