Tummy tuck is usually done along with liposuction. Liposuction in that case is done to upper abdomen also. Hence there is some pain and swelling in the post operative period. I often perform liposuction in this area along with the tummy tuck and this can sometimes lead to more swelling and discomfort in the upper abdomen. your abdomen looks good for this time after surgery. it will only get better with time. follow your surgeons instructions closely. sometimes the muscle repair causes some increased pain in the upper abdomen after surgery or you had some liposuction there. either one will get better with time.
