I have a lot more upper abdominal pain and swelling after my tummy tuck. Is this normal? Lower belly flatter than upper (Photo)

You are very early in your recovery and your abdomen looks fairly normal for this time point. Continue to follow your surgeon's postop care plan.

Thank you for your pictures and questions.  Did you have some liposuction to your upper abdomen?  I often perform liposuction in this area along with the tummy tuck and this can sometimes lead to more swelling and discomfort in the upper abdomen.  Having asymmetrical swelling this early after surgery is not uncommon.  If you have any concerns, make sure you speak with your surgeon or his/her office.  Congratulations on your journey!

Tummy tuck is usually done along with liposuction. Liposuction in that case is done to upper abdomen also. Hence there is some pain and swelling in the post operative period. You will also have areas of bruising. But this will settle in a couple of weeks time. If you find anything grossly abnormal, consultation with operating surgeon will help

your abdomen looks good for this time after surgery. it will only get better with time. follow your surgeons instructions closely. sometimes the muscle repair causes some increased pain in the upper abdomen after surgery or you had some liposuction there. either one will get better with time.
