What are the red streaks developing on my nasal tip 5 weeks post open rhinoplasty? (photos)

I started to develop these red lines on my nostrils when I started to swell after splint was removed. Will these go away as the tip swelling starts to subside? Is this something I should be concerned about?

You should ask your surgeon, but I cannot imagine more then 3 weeks - mostly the concern is getting congestion or bleeding from a hot bath.

The benefit of nasal splints are packing is debatable in any event. Certainly after four days they have fulfilled their use.

It's possible that the eyes might look further apart after narrowing the nose. Video imaging is a good way to give you some idea what to expect from this change.

Accutane suppresses the pilosebaceous units in the skin.  These units are a key ingredient in the healing of the skin and nose.  I would not suggest taking this medication until you are well healed from the rhinoplasty surgery.  I would not recommend taking it 3 weeks after...
