Gaining or losing weight does not have a direct effect on the shape of your nose and the results of your rhinoplasty operation. Your nose is made of cartilage, bone, and skin. It has no fat cells. Therefore, you will not get a change in the appearance of your nose after losing or gaining weight. Best wishes.
Does the nose change with weight gain and loss? The nose consists mainly of bone, cartilage, muscle, skin, and connective tissue. There are minute amounts of fat in most noses and slightly more in others. It would take a huge fluctuation in weight to have an effect on this tiny amount of fat. in the vast majority of patients 20 or 30 pounds of weight gain or loss should not affect the nose in a visible way, but a very large gain or loss might have a slight visible affect.
Generally the nose does not change much if at all with weighjt loss or gain. The other facial features do, so the nose may look diffrent with significant weight change because of change in harmony of the features. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon with extensive nasal surgery experience who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Additional information about the procedure will help you decide if it is a procedure that you want to pursue. Hi there! The nose tends to have very little fat when compared with the rest of the face. Much of the nose is skin, connective tissue / SMAS, and underlying cartilage. Therefore, I don’t often expect to see significant changes with any change in weight. As long as nutrition is stable and the rhinoplasty is done with good support, there shouldn’t be much negative change. Hope this helps!
Preoperative rhinoplasty simulations: many surgeons do not believe in preoperative simulations, because with simulations the perfect nose can be drawn or morphed every time, while this is not a realistic forecast of what will happen at surgery. I personally don’t believe in simulations since t...
Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I understand from your question, rhinoplasty will definitely help you, but if you send your photos, we can make an evaluation.Best regards.
Your surgeon will be using a plastic surgery simulator for your simulation. This is a simple but effective tool by which your doctor can reshape parts of your nose to experiment and see what your ideal nose may look like. With that said please remember that while computer imaging can give you an...
