Does nose get widen after palatal expander?

Palatal expansion does not widen the nose. If the maxilla is moved forward or backward it will change the lip posture and can raise the tip or lower the tip in the area of the nasal spine.

 A palatal expander widens the palate, not the nose. To widen a narrow nose requires reverse osteotomies and spreader graft placement to hold the nasal bones more open along with the upper lateral cartilages.
