Can a 14 year old get a breast augmentation procedure?

Hi there, I was wondering if a 14 year old was allowed to undergo a breast augmentation procedure IF she is naturally born with a chest that wont increase, due to hormonal issues. Thank you for all the help. Best regards, Lina

Thanks for your question. Firstly, parental consent is required for anyone seeking cosmetic procedure under the age of 18. In most cases I wait until the individual has completed puberty, around the ages of 16-18, before considering candidacy for cosmetic procedure. At age 14 you would have to have the approval of your parents. They would have to be some extenuating circumstances for me to perform the operation. Most of the time I would advise the parents to wait until breast development is complete and the woman is of legal age.

Fourteen is young for a breast augmentation.  If both sides are not developing, an evaluation with an endocrinologist may be warranted.  Unless there are unusual circunstances, I would wait till age 18.  Patients must be 22 years old for silicone implants.
