Can I wear a nose clip at night or even just an hour a day or would that have any negative side effects? (photos)

I got my rhinoplasty 1.5 months ago and the tip is much bigger than it was pre-operation (it really is--it doesn't ONLY seem like it. I compared with my own pictures). I want to wear a nose clip to make my nose smaller more quickly. Would there be any problem with this? Also, thank you in advance for your time. I found my doctor through his responses to other patients.

I would advise against using the nose clip until having it inspected by your surgeon.  Allow your surgeon to inspect the device and your nose to see if it may have any therapeutic benefit. The larger appearance to the tip of the nose is likely due to swelling that will gradually settle on its own.

I would not recommend it as we are unclear about all the surgical maneuvers used by your surgeon to make the tip etc.

Dear Irinaaa, I would not suggest using a nose clip ever and even more so not when you are still early in the recovery phase at approximately 60 days post surgery. Contact your surgeon's office for a follow up appointment  and bring the device with you if you have already purchased it. I  am sure you will get the same response of "NO" to the clip. It is absolutely not advisable to use a nose clip 1.5 months following your surgery...unless your surgeon agrees.  Do not try to 'help' your surgery.  Please follow your surgeon's advice.  He/she knows exactly what was done and how best to advise you post-operatively.  It is not unusual for the tip to be swollen at 1.5 months.  The area is very small and the swelling is more noticeable.  Give it some time and follow all directions!

I have never recommended a nose clip to any patient.  Consult with your Plastic Surgeon before using that.  It could do more harm than good.  Best wishes!
