Taping a droopy nose?

Question

I have a droopy tip and a dorsal hump on my nose, i'm not so bothered about the bump as much as much as the tip, and i would rather not go under the knife if there are other methods to fix it. I have heard that taping your nose may help and was wondering if this was truly the case, if i kept a tape holding my nose up for long periods of time will it in any way help improve the appearance of my nose?

Taping the nose will not lift the tip  permanently. A rhinoplasty with sculpting of the nasal cartilages is required to lift the tip on a  permanent basis. For many examples, please see the video below

Koko101,If only that were true...Taping your nose will not result in a persistent change in the shape of your nose once the tape is removed. It is true that infants who are born with prominent ears can undergo taping to permanently reshape the ears and set them back closer to the head. This works because they are young, the cartilage is very soft, and the parents have to be diligent about taping. Unfortunately, by the time you're old enough to tap a question into RealSelf, the "concrete is dry" as far as the nasal and ear cartilages go. Surgery is the only remedy.Good luck!  Harry V.
