Are there surgeries to fix too much eyelid skin removed from eyes?

Question

I had bad eye surgery and cannot close my eyes. Is there surgery to add more skin to my eyelid or on top? It will not get better with time.

It is unfortunate that you have the problem you do now but the good news is that reconstructive surgery is possible to restore eye closure, specifically skin graft placement to replace lost skin. It is important to see an oculoplastic surgeon.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this complication.  Without knowing what type of surgery you had or when it was done, it is difficult to give you a precise fix.  I would recommend follow-up with your surgeon, or second opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon to assess your eyes and discuss options to improve your lagophthalmos.  While you wait for evaluation, it is important to keep your eyes moisturized with drops ointment to prevent corneal ulceration.
