Is Softtouch much firmer than Responsive? Any advice is appreciated!

Hi, can you please help me? How firm would you say 500cc Softtouch is when compared to Responsive? Does firmer cohesive gel leak less in case of an implant rupture? I went to a consultation with this doctor. I heard that the implant I am looking for(Responsive) is not available but softtouch in the same size is (available). Is there a big difference?

Allergan calls its softest gel "responsive gel."  This has been available since 2006.It's firmest gel is called "cohesive" or more commonly the "410 gel."  It has been available in their teardrop implant since 2013 and in 2016 became available in a round gel.Their middle gel is called "SoftTouch" and was recently approved for use in the Untied States.  It is not yet available, but should be this Spring. From what I understand they are just building up inventory.The SoftTouch has been Allergan's most popular gel where it has been available, and I suspect it will do the same here.  It occupies the middle ground between, "the 410 gel resists ripples but is too round and firm" and the "responsive gel is squishy but has too much of a tendency to ripple."  I think that many surgeons and patients will find it, "just right."Ultimately it is a matter of deciding upon those trade--offs.  You can only decide after speaking with a surgeon very well versed in these subtleties. BTW, another surgeon answered that neither can leak and that is false; all implants available in the USA have a risk of leak.

The Inspiration SoftTouch implant by Allergan will not be available until early April. This implant is a bit more firm than the currently available responsive gel implant. Both are safe and FDA approved. In general, the move firm an implant is it will be less likely to ripple. In the rare event the implant were to have a breach in the shell, the silicone will stay within the scar tissue you body created around it called a capsule.I hope this helpsDr. Edwards

They are both excellent products and come in a very wide variety of sizes and profiles. The Softtouch is a bit firmer in my opinion. Both are highly cohesive and do not leak.
