I want to fix the shape of my breasts so that they are round and the nipple is more centered, but I don’t want to add much size. I was considering a breast lift only, but a surgeon told me my results would look “masculine” and “like a man with pec muscles.” I also was looking into a lift with a fat transfer, but I was told I don’t have enough fat. I have pictures of my breasts and then photos of my desired results. I’d love more opinions on my options/what you would do in your practice.

Answer: Small pointy breasts- want to fix shape but avoid implants and increasing size. There are numerous options: Donut lift alone, donut lift plus a small implant or donut lift and fat injections. They each produce different degrees of cosmetic improvement. Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest your plastic surgeon be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person and be very realistic about your potential cosmetic result. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: BA candidate Dear Witty84571, if you want to increase the size of your breasts, you have two options: implants and fat transfer. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
