Sculptra question to doctors. What is the size of a unit?

I am not familiar with the term "unit" in regards to Sculptra.  Since Sculptra comes in a vial, most physicians refer to the amount of Sculptra used in terms of the number of vials.  I would ask your injector how many vials they plan to use with your treatment.  

Sculptra is sold by the vial and botox is sold by the unit.  Sculptra comes in a powdered for and is reconstituted with saline containing some lidocaine with epinephrine.  Sculptra will stimulate your own body to produce collagen making it a very effective anti aging option.

Sculptra is Poly-L- Lactic Acid injections, designed to treat hallow cheeks, temples, and nasolabial folds. It works by stimulating collagen production in the dermis to create more volume overtime. Treatments done once a month for up to 6 sessions.

Each vials of Sculptra contains 7-10 ml depending on how the provider likes it blended. Always discuss desired outcome with your Expert Injector.  

Thank you for your question. Sculptra is typically priced by the vial, there are no unit designations with this product. Each vial contains 367.5 mg of poly-L-Lactic Acid. In St Louis, MO the typical price of a vial is around $700 less any rebates that may be offered by Galderma. We usually inject 1-2 vials per session. Most patients need 4-6 vials to get adequate volume restoration. Results continue to improve over time for up to one year and 80% of patients are satisfied with their results 2 years out.
