Is it normal for one side to always be a bit bigger when you get filler in cheeks?

Question

I get filler in my cheeks, side cheeks for contouring, but even when my doctor works to make them symmetrical, it seems that one side is always bigger, where they put more filler in one side more... is the asymmetry normal ? It seems twice already one side is bigger than the other... is it the injectors fault ? I do remember looking in the mirror at the one side which is smaller now looked bigger in the chair.

To create improve symmetry of the cheeks in your situation, cheek implants are a wonderful option. With all surgery, there are risks involved, but with a qualified surgeon you have a great chance of having a wonderful outcome. You have other options to improve the area by adding volume with fat, fillers, or Sculptra.  If you are looking for the absolute safest option, these are the way to go. The downside to these options is they have to be repeated and will cost you more money in the long run. I hope this helps!

Everyone is asymmetrical and often its not a great idea to use fillers to be perfectally symmetrical. I suggest you see an expert if you are concerned about your apperance and the overall shape. Best, Dr. Emer.

It is considered normal to have one side of the face smaller, narrower. The difference in size may be very subtle but once augmented (fillers) that asymmetry may become more visible. You should discuss this aspect with your surgeon and possibly consider "asymmetric" injection, placing more volume in smaller side. Good luck.

everyone is asymmetrical  and a goal of any filling session is to achieve symmetry and then to augment.. this is easier said than done and may take tweeking 2 weeks post treatment
