Normal life after rhinoplasty? Can I go to the beach and tan?

I got my rhinoplasty may 10th, can I go to the beach and tan and get in the water and wear makeup or do I have to keep it really clean and sanitary? Can I be out in the hot sun a long time or not?

Hello,I allow patients to return to their daily lives during the first 6 weeks. You are pretty far along in the recovery process so I believe going to the beach and being in the hot sun are allowed. I would not dunk your head in the water allowing the sand to obstruct your nose. May tenth is seven weeks ago. If you were my patient I would say go ahead, except no diving into water and no deep submersion. Wear sunscreen. Bottom line though is talk to YOUR surgeon first.All the best,Talmage Raine MD
