Bruising after injection of #fillers is not uncommon; it is partly luck of the draw as to whether the injector can safely avoid all superficial veins during injection. While we always are trained to look for the vessels, some are not visible through the skin and other factors (medications, genetics, herbal supplements, etc.) can impact the tendency to bruise.Regarding the "lump" you feel, this may just be early swelling around the injection site. Your injector may be able to massage it down if it is actually the product that is palpable. The nice thing about Juvederm and other hyaluronic acid fillers is the existence of hyaluorinidase enzyme, which can be injected to break up the HA product if necessary. While I've never had to use it, it is well known as a potential "antidote" to lumps, nodules and other excessively palpable injection phenomena.

Hello - Sorry to hear you are having challenges after your recent treatment. You are correct, treating the glabellar lines is not an FDA approved injection area. However, some plastic surgeons will use fillers in what is known as "off label" areas. When having injections in these areas, it is important that your physician is knowledgeable of the anatomy and experienced in injection techniques for that specific area. In regards to your recent experience, it appears you could have a hematoma (which is bleeding under the skin), or too much Juvederm was injected in the area, or you could be experiencing a combination of both. Either way, the area should improve with time. Juvederm is a collection of hyaluronic acid fillers and its duration depends on how much filler was placed and the product used, as each Juvederm product has a specific lifespan. 

Many injectors avoid injecting the glabellar area because of potential sight-threatening complications and the neuro-vascular bundles in that area. In my opinion, this area is better treated with Botox, Laser, and brow lift procedures. After the fact, I would recommend cold compresses with pressure on the area to spread the filler. Just based on photos, I would NOT recommend any further measures other than followup with your injector. Injectors need your feedback - and they also need to help you through the post-injection time frame. Your satisfaction is important. Best wishes.
