What is the best dermal filler for raising the bridge in an Asian non surgical rhinoplasty? Fillers are hydrophilic and absorb water as the product breaks down losing its definition. It also expands what was a narrow bridge when initally placed. Due to cross linking I understand that Juvederm Voluma, Perlane and Princess Volume may be best to prevent this. Which one is most preferred and why?
Answer: Best filler for Asian nose bridge Hello, thank you for your question. In my practice, I perform a lot of nonsurgical rhinoplasty wih filler injections for Asian noses. Radiesse has always been my preferred choice because it is not as hydrophilic, mimics the nasal bone and maintains its shape very well without widening the nose bridge over time as it absorbs water from the surrounding tissues. Voluma is a good option too but on patients with thick skin/ soft tissue, it may still appear a little wide (swollen looking) to some patients. Lately I've been performing a lot of Asian nose bridge augmentation with Restylane Lyft and I've been very satisfied with the results. Perhaps it's due to its much lauded higher G-prime compared to the other hyaluronic acid based fillers, it maintains its shape better than the others. Also, FYI, Restylane lyft and Perlane are essentially the same product. (Perlane has been rebranded/renamed to Restylane lyft last year). So, in short, I personally prefer Radiesse and Restylane lyft for augmentation of Asian noses. Hope that helps!Goretti H. Taghva MD

Answer: What is the best dermal filler for raising the bridge in an Asian non surgical rhinoplasty? Thank you for your question. Dermal fillers are an excellent way to raise the bridge of the nose or the radix to create a more defined nasal shape and contour. I have used Juvederm with good success but the most important consideration is choosing the plastic surgeon who best understands your desired goals.

Answer: Dermal Filler for Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty This is a great question! Many people think that all dermal fillers are created equally and that is not true. I prefer to use Restylane L or Restylane Lyft to raise the bridge on my Asian non-surgical rhinoplasty patients. Certain Juvederm products tend to inflate after the injection which is not beneficial for the nose area. I hope you found this information helpful!
