Dr.gongora in Mexico uses this brand and being away from home and having similar implants to boobs scare me but the feeling is lovely .is cohesive gel implants safe in buttocks?
Answer: Silimed buttock implants. I personally prefer the workability of Spectrum Design Implants but all the semisolid silicone implant brands have similar outcomes as long as they are placed in the correct submuscular pocket. Additionally, semisolid implants are considered permanent, whereas gel implants are risk for rupture and thus considered a temporary implant. Glad to help.

Answer: Silimed butt implants Dear BeaUTworX, You did not mention if your doctor is going to use silicone gel implant or semisolid silicone implants. Over 10 years ago I used textured silicone semisolid implants from Silimed and I had lots of problems with seromas ( fluid in the pocket ) . The company did not help me or my patients to eliminate the problem. I switched to implants from AART and the problem disappeaed. That was my bad experience with the company, but maybe they have changed. Talk to you doctor about it. I do not belive in silicone gel for butt implants because of possilble capsule contracture and rapture due to intense physical activity. Always, consult with board certified plastic surgeons who do large numbers of butt implants surgery. Check the before and after pictures to make sure that you like the results because there are different surgical techniqes and the implants come in different sizes and shapes. All the best, Dr Widder

Answer: Is Silimed a good implant for the buttock? If so do they really last a lifetime? The semisolid implants placed in the US are difficult to rupture in the conventional sense. The main factors in longevity of implants is the plane in which the implants are placed, how the pocket is dissected and closed, and the judgment utilized by the surgeon.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Silimed implant Hello, thank you for your question. Silimed brand is an implant manufacturer from Brazil, they are the largest implant manufacturer in Latin America, and recently gained FDA approval, and is marketed in the US as Sientra®, I only use Silimed here in Dominican Republic as it is a good reliable implant. Having that said, cohesive gel implants are very good, they have a beautiful outcome in buttocks surgery, but in my opinion it depends on the placement technique used, as I prefer the intramuscular technique. But implants are man made and none are forever, the possibility of having to change your implant always exists, so just be sure of what you want and are getting into.Good luck with your surgery.
