Why am I having yellowing of skin around one of my eyes 5 days after tear trough Restylane filler injected? (photo)

Question

I had restylane filler injescted in my tear trough area and cheeks. No bruising or swelling noted after procedure just minor redness at injection sites. On day 5 I noticed yellow discolouration around my right eye. Is this normal? Will it fade or be permanent? What should I do?

This is the left overs of a tiny bruise that’s clearing up. I prefer the cannula technique to reduce bruises like this in the future. Best. Dr. Aldo

This looks like bruising, which will resolve in 1-2 weeks after injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

This appears to be slight bruising which is very common with filler, especially those placed near the eyes. This should fade away within the next few days. I recommend following up with your physician of you have any questions regarding your treatment. That being said, this can be covered by make up or an arnica/bromelain can be used. This bruising appears minimal and should subside quickly.thanks for your question !

The yellowing of the skin you see 5 days after your Restylane injection is due to bruising.  Bruising can appear as black, blue, yellow or green.  This should resolve fairly soon and it is not permanent.
