Why am I having yellowing of skin around one of my eyes 5 days after tear trough Restylane filler injected? (photo)

I had restylane filler injescted in my tear trough area and cheeks. No bruising or swelling noted after procedure just minor redness at injection sites. On day 5 I noticed yellow discolouration around my right eye. Is this normal? Will it fade or be permanent? What should I do?

Thanks for this question. The biggest difference between lidocaine and no lidocaine is there is more pain with injections that lack lidocaine. This statement is especially true for the lips! Your doctor should be able to get the product without lidocaine from the manufacturer.Best wishes. Dr. ALDO

Yes, bruising and swelling can be typical. It can take 1-2 weeks for final results. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps!

You would need an in-person consultation and examination to determine what's going on and the appropriate treatment. In general, hyperpigmentation can be improved using a combination of at-home skin care, chemical peels, and lasers. Make sure you see an experienced provider. Best wishes.
