Had liposuction a month ago. Wondering when I can start using make up to cover up my incisions without increasing my risk of infection. (Im a dancer, meaning, to get back to work my body has to be exposed.)

Answer: Makeup after liposuction Dear barbiemakeup should be safe once your incision is fully healed. But every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Make-up on Liposuction Incisions & After care -- RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol for using make-up on incisions. This would depend on how they have healed. Also, you may still have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
