Mommy makeover. I was diagnosed with ITP. My platelet level has never been below 100000. Am i safe to have a tummy tuck and breast lift? I was thinking of having tt/lipo and breast lift but read that there is a lot of bleeding during lipo. So i have decided to have just tummy tuck and breast lift. I am wondering if i am safe to have a mommy makeover with ITP.

Answer: ITP and cosmetic surgery Hello-As you know, ITP is due to a low platelet count and can lead to bleeding complications due to low platelets and clotting difficulties.A platelet level around 100,000 is relatively unlikely to cause a bleeding problem. The best recommendation would be to discuss your plans with your hematologist, and ideally to have your hematologist and your plastic surgeon confer about your care so that everyone is on the same page. That way, you can decide if it is safe for your to proceed.Best wishes-
