Want fuller and rounder breasts - sub-glandular? (Photos)

Question

I'm currently a size 32D and would like to be a 32DDD. I'm very active, lift weights and my job requires heavy lifting. At this time I don't want a lift and I want the implants placed subglandular. Could I achieve more roundness and fullness with subglandular breast implants? I'd also like to know an opinion on what size of implants and I would need to achieve my breast size goal.

This is a really good question and as we often say we cannot evaluate you fully without an exam in person.  In general, subglandular implants can present some problems such as an increase in capsular contracture risk and greater risk of palpability.  In addition, if you are very active with weights or at your job, larger implants may not be the best option.  In the end I would recommend discussing your goals and concerns with a plastic surgeon in person.  He or she can give you the pros and cons of each option and help you weigh your goals of larger breasts against your wishes to avoid a lift and have a subglandular pocket.  Great question and good luck!

Thank you for your pictures and questions. You may be a candidate for subglandular implants but a physical exam would be required to assess for the thickness of your tissues to determine whether this would be a good option for you. At your consultation, you should also try on different implants to get an idea of what volume you are looking for as the same implant volume can mean different sizes on different people. Hope this helps!

In my oponion if you are going for rounder and fuller breast you can get it with implants but you must know that as you do heavy lifting you need to have a proper recovery to avoid problem after surgery with your implant, you need to consult a surgeon in person to know what size implants you will need and also to confirm if you are a good candidate for subglandular implants. Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. It is important to have an in-person assessment regarding your concerns as it is difficult to determine virtually. The fuller and rounder look can be achieved through proper sizing and subglandular placement

Exact end results and cup sizes are usually quite difficult to calculate as everyone has a different starting point.

There are many different factors that go into choosing a breast implant size which will correspond with your body dimensions while concurrently achieving your aesthetic results. Some of these factors are: Implant size (CC's), Implant profile (Low, Moderate, High), Placement of the implant (Subglandular vs. Dual Plane) etc. We utilize smooth round cohesive silicone gel 'gummy bear' implants for the best results.

During a consultation your aesthetic goals are heard and taken into account with the measurements of your breasts and the integrity of your tissue, as well as level of ptosis (sag). From here we collectively can find your 'perfect fit'. You are able to try out sizers and different implants in our office such that you can get an idea of what size you would be post-operation. We also offer Crisalix 3D plastic surgery virtual simulator during our in-person and virtual consultations to preview potential results. After your consultation, you will receive your very own implant sizers to take home with you (at a small cost) whether or not you decide to go forward with your procedure.

I usually recommend that my patients stop smoking, take vitamin C daily, and avoid aspirin/ibuprofen and vitamin E 3 weeks prior to surgery. I specialize in the 24-hour Recovery method which minimizes trauma to the breast and decreases pain post-operatively.

Unfortunately you cannot get a reasonable result without a major lift, no matter what type or size of implant is used. You will either wind up with the implant high on your chest with the nipples drooping off the implant or else you will develop the dreaded ball in sock deformity.

Your photos show that a lift would be a better plan because your nipples are low, but you can always put that off until the future. However, if you place a large subglandular implant, over time, because of your skin laxity, the weight of it will most likely settle down into the bottom of the breast envelope and lose upper fullness. This creates a matronly look, sometimes called a "ball in a sock."
