Hi. I was wondering whether Restylane Silk or Restylane Refyne gives better results for a liquid nose job. And does one give a longer lasting result over the other? Refyne seems to be the consistently more expensive option and I don’t understand why. Thanks for any input!

Answer: Refyne Refyne is newer filler that differs from previous fillers, because it stretches and has more elasticity. It has been used outside of the US for quite a long time and was only relatively recently approved. As a result of the different technology, it is more expensive.

Answer: Restylane silk or refyne Refyne is more expensive because it is the newer product of the two and also the cross-linking technology used in the Refyne generation of Restylane products has the product lasting much longer than the Silk generation. I prefer a dissolvable HA filler such as VOLUMA which lasts a long time, but can be reversed if it is not to your liking. It also has greater lift of the tissue than the restylane products so it is good for areas which need structure such as the bridge. If you are trying to blend areas and not add structure, then Restylane can be used insead,. It is best to have an in-office examination to determine which will work best for you. Sometimes a combination of fillers can be beneficial although you usually only need one type for a liquid nose job. Hope this helps! Johnson C.
